Here is a tool to focus your mind on what you are intentionally working on right now.

Examples:

- "I am practicing receiving compliments deeply"

- "I am practicing getting good sleep"

- "I am practicing being kind to myself"

- "I am practicing not drinking"

- "I am practicing expressing gratitude"

The practice of saying "I'm practicing…" lets us off the subtle but insidious hook of expectation that we already know how to do the thing we are practicing.

It interrupts covert perfectionism which is sometimes a proxy for covert narcissism.
