As medical professionals, we live by the principle of "first, do no harm"
Primum Non Nocere Applies to Us Too
As medical professionals, we live by the principle of "first, do no harm," which we all ascribe to when we take the Hippocratic Oath.
But what about the harm we do to ourselves—when we ignore our own needs, overextend our limits, or stay stuck in unhelpful patterns?
In coaching this can show up as using the insights we develop against ourselves instead of standing in steadfast alliance with our learning selves.
The first step is simple: stop the cycle and choose a different path.
Coaching gives you the tools to identify these roles and shift to empowered, intentional action.
Because doing no harm starts with you.
In ROAR and in other coaching spaces, we learn to hold ourselves accountable with unwavering self-allyship.
With Compassion. Encouragement. Partnership.
If that feels like an unfamiliar concept, you may be living an internal drama triangle... no worries- it's just the brain's way.
But Notice. Do you recognize any of these roles?
Internal Persecutor (aka task master, demanding perfectionist flavored voice)
Internal Victim (nothing is ever quite enough to satisfy the perpetrator)
Internal Rescuer (That part that lets you off the hook or "rewards" you so you can feel OK again...)
Just a reminder: There are other possibilities.
Ready to lead yourself with clarity and care? Investigate an internal empowerment dynamic instead?
